5 Ideas to Help Improve Safety at Your Raleigh Healthcare Center

Medical and healthcare centers in Raleigh are seeing a significant uptick in foot traffic due to the COVID-19 situation.

This adds an additional layer of complexity for both staff, patients, and management—as many areas now require 6’ minimum of social distancing. How does a hospital, 24-hour emergency clinic, or assisted living center provide the same level of excellent service while keeping everyone safe?  While most, if not all, centers in Raleigh have a COVID-19 safety plan in place, many of them are using handmade signs and relying on human beings to verbally inform patients, doctors, and staff.  We want to share with you five medical and healthcare signage ideas that can help improve safety and provide a better experience for inside and outside your facility in Raleigh.

Interior Floor Graphics

Your medical center is a hubbub of human activity. Strategically placed interior floor graphics can help direct traffic and allow people to keep a 6’ safe distance from each other. If you have a waiting room, you can use the decals to mark out exactly where people need to stand in line, and then when it’s their turn to see the doctor, create a path on the ground for them to follow. AlphaGraphics of Downtown Raleigh can help you create the perfect interior floor graphics for your medical or healthcare facility. They are slip and scratch-resistant, come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, and can adhere to almost any surface. When it comes time to remove them, they won’t leave a mark or damage the underlying floor.

Temporary Exterior Signs

With increased foot traffic levels comes increased vehicle traffic levels. Temporary exterior signs can help direct both safely. You can use them to make changes to your parking lot, such as directing car traffic to queue up for no-touch COVID-19 tests. They can also list your new social distancing policies to ensure the safety of people in the waiting room. You can choose from a wide variety of materials, such as foam core, wood, aluminum, vinyl, or acrylic. You can also mount them onto metal or wood signage poles, adhere them with a temporary adhesive, or heavy-duty Velcro. Weather and UV-resistant inks and finishes will help protect them from fading in the hot afternoon sun.

Posters

There’s a lot of misinformation on the internet and social media about the COVID-19 virus. Your medical facility can help set the record straight by providing accurate information to your patients. You can add informational or safety posters to waiting rooms, patient rooms, or anywhere in your facility where there is high foot traffic. You can also add a QR Code to the poster that will allow people with smartphones to take a picture and get directed to an authoritative medical advice site such as the CDC or your healthcare website for more information. Personalized URLs are a great way to display a long website address in an easy-to-remember (or write down) format.

A-Frame Signs

A frame Covid-19Also known as a sandwich board, A-frame signs are a cost-effective way of displaying relevant information. Due to their design, they’re easy to read and very noticeable. You can place them outside your facility to provide necessary contact information, direct traffic, or offer wayfinding directions. A-frame signs are lightweight, durable, and you can choose from a wide variety of materials such as wood, aluminum, and heavy-duty plastic. Chalk and magnetic boards will allow you to change your message easily and quickly. When it comes time to move or store the A-frame sign, they fold up compactly and are compact enough to store almost anywhere.

Yard and Site Signs

Yard and site signs are another temporary outdoor signage option. Depending on local regulations, you can mount them on the grassy medians near the street to inform vehicle traffic or use them as directional signage. If you need something a bit sturdier, you can opt to have them made out of wood or aluminum. At AlphaGraphics of Downtown Raleigh, our state-of-the-art large format printers can create any size of sign that you can imagine. Weather and UV-resistant inks will help ensure that it won’t fade, and our sturdy mounting options will help keep it firmly in place.
